Over $153,000 was awarded to 30 Island non-profits at a warm and inspiring event on Thursday, November 8.  Over 125 non-profit directors and board members as well as Island philanthropists, came out to hear about the good and inspiring work being done on this Island.

Grants were awarded from 16 funds, 4 of them new or expanded. We are delighted to welcome a new fund created by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, their Driving the Future Fund.  Funded by a portion of the sales of MV license plates, this fund benefits the youth and seniors of the Island.  We also welcome the expanded reach of the Wendy Weisman Jenkinson Culinary Arts Fund.  Created in memory of Wendy’s love of cooking and the culinary arts, this fund has recently expanded to include grant making as well as providing scholarships.  We are delighted to announce the new Katherine Harding Deeble Memorial Fund.  Created by bequest of W. Riley Deeble in honor of his mother, this fund supports the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.  The K. H. Deeble Memorial Fund has teamed up with the MV Hospital Auxiliary Tree of Lights Fund as they both have a similar mission, to support the MV Hospital and Windermere.
