Governance
The Permanent Endowment is governed by a volunteer board of leading citizens selected for their judgement and integrity, who know the Island and understand the challenges and opportunities facing the community. The Board sets policy and oversees administration, as performed by the Executive Director, as well as the management of its assets by the Martha’s Vineyard Financial Group.
Currently, the Board is comprised of eleven civic leaders, four appointed by public authorities, three appointed by our Trustee Bank and four elected by the Board. Each member serves a five year term and may be re-appointed for one additional term. Board committees include Finance, Governance and Scholarships.
